What is a doula and why should I hire one?

Doulas offer: 

- Emotional Support, by getting to know you and your individual preferences before you give Birth. This makes all the difference in your chosen birth setting. 

- Physical Support, by working with you beforehand to practice different coping strategies to use during your labor. 

- Partner Support, because the partner's experience and involvement during your birth matters too! I teach your partner prenatally how to use effective hands-on comfort measures that give them the confidence they need to support you.

- Evidence-Based Research so that you can make the best decision for YOU and your baby. There's a lot of information out there--allow me to help make it less overwhelming. 

A Doula works alongside your Doctor or licensed Midwife to complement your birth team by focusing on your physical comfort and emotional well being.
